Luckily, our Camp-Resort is closely located to a well-know city. Just a mere 20 minutes away, one can find the city of Memphis, Tennessee! And if you only have a day to spend in Memphis, it’s sure to be a busy one spent exploring different must-see attractions. Keep reading to find out about some of our favorites!

Memphis Zoo

Do you have some animal lovers in your family? Then you’ll want to make the Memphis Zoo a top priority stop during your day trip to Memphis. Home to over 3,500 animals such as fish, birds, and lions, to monkeys, rodents, and sloths, you can spend hours getting to know some of your favorite furry, scaly, and feathery friends. In one place, you’re able to see different animals from all over the world making this a zoo experience you’re unlikely to forget.

Children’s Museum of Memphis

Located in Midtown Memphis, the Children’s Museum of Memphis is definitely one to check out if you have some curious kiddos that are up for hands-on learning. While it is recommended for children ages 1-12, parents will have a fun time watching their kids playing and learning new things at the same time—plus, parents might have some fun relearning how to play, too!

Memphis Rock ‘n’ Soul Museum

If you find yourself strolling down the famous Beale Street, you’ll want to stop and check out the Memphis Rock ‘n’ Soul Museum. A prime spot for music lovers and history buffs, visitors are able to learn all about the birth of rock and soul music, and the artists that helped shape this popular genre. The museum offers a musical experience by showcasing the rural music of the 1930s, through Memphis’ “musical heyday” in the 1970s, to its impact on music around the globe.


One of Memphis’ most popular attractions was at one time the home to the world famous king of rock ‘n’ roll, Elvis Presley. Spend some time exploring the king’s mansion as you learn all about his life and musical career. The tour of Graceland Mansion includes various rooms such as the kitchen, pool room, the Meditation Garden, and more!
